Job Summary

Lynk is developing cellular-based space payloads and seeks a Wireless Engineer to design and implement air interfaces for Lynk’s satellite-direct-to-phone services. This role involves developing DSP, optimizing the physical layer procedures, and implementing custom resource scheduling algorithms. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in wireless communications, signal processing, and RAN development to drive innovation in next‑generation satellite‑based mobile networks.

Core Responsibilities

• Design and implement physical - PHY and medium access control - MAC layer algorithms and procedures for satellite communication links.
• Develop baseband modems on software defined radio - SDR platforms.
• Evaluate the performance of algorithms in simulation and on the target platform.
• Develop test software and drivers to support unit, integration, and system testing of all base station software functions.
• Perform link budget analysis of LTE and 5G system between satellite and UEs.
• Work with other team members to benchmark payload software applications.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Deep understanding of communication theory and signal processing related algorithms design, such as filter design, clock recovery, signal detection, channel estimation and equalization, channel coding, MIMO.
• Strong knowledge of software defined radios - SDRs and their implementation.
• Strong knowledge of the 3GPP standards, including LTE and 5G PHY, MAC, and RRC specifications.
• Hands‑on experience in lab testing & characterization.
• Experience with MATLAB, Python, C or C++ for algorithm development, modeling, and simulation.
• Experience using test equipment like signal generators, spectrum analyzers, etc.
• Experience with implementing DSP algorithms in HDL, such as SystemVerilog, VHDL is a plus.
