Job summary

Rexel USA is seeking a warehouse associate responsible for efficiently cutting wire and fulfilling customer orders with safety and accuracy. You will operate material handling equipment, check wire specifications, and ensure shipments leave the facility in good condition.

This role may include cross-training in other warehouse tasks. Qualifications include 1+ year wire cutting experience, forklift certification, valid driver’s license if delivering, and a HS/GED.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of wire cutting experience preferred.
• Prior warehouse or distribution center experience a plus.
• Certification to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment preferred.
• If deliveries are required, must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must pass a pre-employment and annual review of Motor Vehicle Record.
• Must obtain verification of non-expired medical certificate within 60 days of hire.
• Must not have had a suspended driver’s license for a traffic accident/violation within 3 years.
• Must not have any at fault accidents in 3 years.
• High School or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follows safety SOPs and EH&S rules; addresses safety concerns.
• Operates material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Retrieves and cuts wire accurately for customer shipments; checks conformance to specs.
• Fills orders accurately and ensures outbound shipments are damage-free.
• Sets up wire on payout spindle; adjusts controls for thickness, pressure, heat, and cut length.
• Stacks/stores merchandise in proper areas and stages cuts for shipping.
• Maintains minimum standards for wire cuts in line with policies.

Job Description

Summary: Employee’s level and pay will be dependent on their level of experience, knowledge, and capabilities. The Wire Cutter is responsible for efficiently and accurately fulfilling orders for wire and cable cuts utilizing material handling equipment and wire reeling / coiling machinery. Ensures wire/cable is stored, staged, and cut in a manner that meets company standards for safety, security, accuracy, and productivity. May be required to fill in for other warehouse roles.

What You’ll Do

• Contribute to a culture and environment focused daily on employee safety and a safe work environment. Follows established Standard Operating Procedures, Environmental Health and Safety Rules, and immediately addresses safety concerns
• Perform daily machine checks and operates any material handling equipment and powered material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner that meets company standards for safety, security, accuracy, and productivity
• Retrieve and cut wire efficiently and accurately for requested customer shipments Examines wire for conformance to specifications and removes defective pieces
• Fill all orders efficiently and accurately. Ensures outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage
• Place reel of specified wire onto payout spindle of machine and threads wire through feed rolls. Adjusts machine controls to regulate factors such as wire thickness, pressure, heat, and cutting and stripping length
• Stack/store merchandise in the appropriate area and stages wire cuts in the appropriate shipping area
• Maintain a minimum standard in wire cuts in compliance with current company policies in both accuracy and productivity
• Report any damage to electronic hardware, work machines, or pipe racks immediately to a supervisor
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Must be willing to be trained on all the following material handling equipment: forklift, stand-up reach truck, High-Reach Narrow-Aisle, Stand-Up Rider pallet Jack that conform to OSHA safety training requirements
• Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and customers
• Ability to handle basic issues and problems
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations to accurately complete job tasks
