Job summary

Maersk Filipinas Crewing Inc. (Marine People Philippines) seeks a competent Wiper with at least 12 months sea service on foreign-going ships to join our engine department onboard modern container vessels.

You will be trained and developed while performing basic engine-room duties and supporting repairs under supervision. Applicants should have working knowledge of spoken English, familiarity with PPE, ISM/ISPS concepts, and emergency procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months sea service on foreign-going ships.
• Working knowledge of spoken English.
• Basic knowledge of ISM, ISPS, and security duties.
• Knowledge of PPE and safety procedures.
• Awareness of safety meetings and reporting near misses.

Maersk Filipinas Crewing Inc. (Marine People Philippines) is looking for a competent Wiper with relevant seagoing experience, willing to be trained, challenged and expand their knowledge onboard our technically advanced container vessels with the best and latest machinery.

A key position in the engine department onboard one of the world’s largest container shipping companies where seafarers are onboarded and equipped to perform and contribute to delivering the vessel commitments. Seafarers are trained and guided in achieving their personal development and career advancement. We ensure to prioritise health and safety, promote diversity and inclusion and at all times carry out upright practice both at sea and ashore.

Recruitment Criteria

• Minimum of 12 months sea service experience on foreign going ships
• Working knowledge of spoken English
• Basic knowledge of ISM, ISPS, and security related duties
• Knowledge of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Knowledge of Emergency Procedures (Fire-Abandonship-Man overboard-Oil Spill)
• Awareness of safety meetings, reporting near miss, incidents, accidents
• Certificates compliant to STCW 2010 Manila amendments requirements
• Minimum 12 months experience as Welder from Shipyard or work in any relevant Welding industry. A mandatory additional Maersk Training will be provided.
