Marathon Mutts in Winthrop, MA seeks a Solo Dog Walker to provide one-on-one dog-walking services. You’ll walk, run, or jog clients’ pups, ensure safety, and maintain daily communication with owners about health and progress.
Position offers independent work with shifts like 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM, 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM, or 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM. Availability at least three days weekly (Tue/ Wed/Thu preferred) is required.
Solo Dog Walker & Professional Best Friend
Marathon Mutts is the premier dog-walking squad in Winthrop, and we're looking to add another human to our pack. We specialize in one-on-one "solo dates" (no chaotic 10-dog-tangle-messes here!), allowing you to build deep, meaningful relationships with dogs who will eventually love you more than their own owners.
You should be the kind of person who sees a dog in a stroller and thinks, "That's reasonable." We need a self-motivated, high-energy human who prioritizes the safety of our furry clients above all else. If you're the person who narrates what a dog is "probably thinking" in a funny voice, you're our people.
This role requires a specific, reliable rhythm. Pick the shift that fits your life:
Sticking to one window all week makes our lives (and the dogs' schedules) much easier, but if your week needs a mix, tell us and we'll work with you.
You must be available at least three days a week, and at least two of those days need to be Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. These pups have schedules tighter than a CEO's; they don't do "rescheduling." More days = more wags, so if you can swing all five, the dogs (and your hours) will thank you.
We won't keep you guessing. You will receive your confirmed schedule for the following day no later than 7:00 PM the night before.
A valid Driver's License and a reliable personal vehicle for daily travel between clients are mandatory. You need a car that can handle the Winthrop "scenic routes" and won't decide to take a nap on the way to a client's house.
You must be able to walk, run, bend, reach, and occasionally win a game of tug-of-war. You should be able to lift up to 30 lbs (a very dense Frenchie) and handle dogs of all sizes, from "Teacup" to "Small Pony."
Ability to use a smartphone for GPS, communication, and our scheduling app.
Prior dog experience is preferred, but a massive heart for animals and a "never-say-die" attitude toward New England weather is essential.
$15.00 - $22.00 per hour (plus tips)
Paid training & Wiggle butts (daily, unlimited)
