Job summary

City of Westfield, Indiana is seeking a seasonal Public Works Laborer for roughly 12 weeks in winter (November–January). The role involves semi-skilled tasks, operating trucks and backhoes, mowing, painting lines, and assisting with concrete forms under the supervision of the Street Superintendent and Foreman.

Requires a High school diploma or GED, basic knowledge of equipment safety, and the ability to perform manual labor in varying weather. Indiana CDL is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operates trucks, backhoe and related equipment when assigned
• Mows grass, picks up trash and debris, trims trees
• Paints street lines and curbs
• Assists with concrete forms and pours
• Assists with traffic control at construction sites
• Performs maintenance and repairs on vehicles and equipment
• Assists with snow and ice control
• Patches and seals cracks as needed
