Centro Escolar University is seeking an aspiring accounting professional to assist in executing audits and assurance engagements, prepare financial statements, and analyze financial information for clients. You will participate in reengineering meetings, prepare tax returns for various entities, and update depreciation schedules while meeting budget and billable-hour targets.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

• Assist in executing audit, review, and other assurance engagements or projects for clients.
• Prepare financial statements and related documents.
• Analyze financial and non-financial information for clients.
• Participate in audit and review reengineering meetings.
• Prepare partnership, corporate, and individual tax returns.
• Update depreciation schedules.
• Prepare financial projections based on income and expense data.
• Conduct internet research.
• Complete assignments within established budgets and achieve charge hour and minimum billable hour targets.
• Produce accurate, organized workpapers and documents free of basic errors.
• Manage multiple tasks and responsibilities efficiently.
• Represent the firm and build relationships through outside activities.
• Collaborate with team members to identify client needs and develop solutions.
• Exemplify firm brand attributes and comply with all policies and procedures.
• Work in a team environment and address conflicts professionally.
• Seek feedback to enhance professional and technical skills.

About You

The company is looking for:

• Individuals working towards a BA or BS in accounting or a related field.
• Eligibility to sit for the CPA exam upon graduation.
• Strong proficiency with technology and basic PC applications such as Excel and Word.
• Ability to quickly learn new techniques, processes, and software used by Assurance and Tax Departments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, tax rules and regulations, and good judgment.
• Understanding of the rules of conduct of the AICPA, OSCPA, and Accountancy Board of Ohio.
• Reliable transportation for on-site client work.
• Availability to work evenings and weekends based on client demands and time of year.

Organizational Relationships

• Report directly to a Performance Manager who provides guidance on administrative issues and work performance through formal evaluations.
