Job summary

Glenbard Township High School District 87 seeks a Head Coach - Winter Cheerleading for Glenbard West High School. Lead a competitive athletic program, promote sportsmanship, and support academic growth for student-athletes within the winter season.

Expect responsibilities include coaching the varsity squad, coordinating with assistants, and ensuring safety, positive feedback, and effective communication with families and the Athletic Office.

Qualifications

IHSA Coaching Certification including applicable performance-enhancing substances, concussion, hate speech and harassment, and CPR/AED training.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of content and sport.
Assess skill and ability of athletes; tailor instruction to varied skill levels.
Create a respectful team environment among coaches and athletes.
Establish a culture for learning, emphasizing skill, effort, and achievement.
Manage team procedures, supervise lower-level coaches and varsity program.
Communicate expectations to players, parents and athletic office in writing and verbally.
Design coherent practices engaging all athletes with clear feedback.
Collaborate with Head Coaches, APA, and Building Administration to reach program goals.
Pursue professional development through sport-specific clinics.
