Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; advanced education preferred.
• CPR/AED certification required for head, assistant, and volunteers coaches.
• Shows interest and aptitude for coaching duties for a specific sport or sports.
• Clean criminal background check, TB test, and child protection registry clearance required before start.

Responsibilities

• Coaches' individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved.
• Helps maintain attendance forms, insurance records, and similar paperwork.
• Helps oversee safety conditions of the facility or area where sport is conducted when students are present.
• Helps establish performance criteria for eligibility in interscholastic competition per state and district standards.
• Enforces discipline and sportsmanship; establishes and oversees penalties for breaches.
• Ensures adherence to all DIAA rules and Indian River School District policies and procedures.
• Represents the school and district in an ethical and professional manner.
• Performs other assigned duties.
