Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Experience as a sports coach.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Familiar with injury prevention practices.

Responsibilities

• Provides the proper skills foundation and support for student athletes.
• Manages varsity and junior varsity sport program, and coordinates coaching staff for both.
• Plans and schedules practices, to include strengthening and conditioning programs.
• Develops and implements the program budget.
• Recommends the purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms as appropriate.
• Oversees the safety conditions of the facility or areas used for the program.
• Establishes standards of conduct and enforces discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times.
• Teach fundamental skills of sport.
• Verify eligibility, physicals, and insurance coverage for each participant.
• Work with the Athletic Director in scheduling interscholastic contests.
• Dismiss squad members in accordance with standards established by the schools.
• Responsible for the safety and well being of participants while under direct supervision.
• Render first aid where appropriate.
• Assign assistant coaches duties and responsibilities where such positions exist.
• Maintain an inventory and store equipment assigned for the sport involved.
• Know and comply with local and state handbooks and regulations.
• Submit written evaluation of work to Athletic Director at end of the season.
• Maintain uniforms and equipment through a student/parent inventory accountability form.
