  • Support tax engagements while understanding clients' businesses, industries, and needs.
  • Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns, workpapers, calculations, and client deliverables.
  • Analyze client financial and tax information, identify issues, and support planning, estimates, extensions, and research.
  • Use firm-approved tax preparation, research, workflow, document management, data, and collaboration technologies.
  • Collaborate with engagement team members and clients to obtain information, resolve routine questions, and maintain documentation.
  • Complete assigned work accurately and on time, communicating progress, questions, and potential issues promptly.
  • Apply coaching to strengthen knowledge, professional judgment, and work quality.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client and firm information and exercise sound professional judgment.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description: Tax Associate Position Summary As a Tax Associate, you'll contribute to tax engagements by preparing returns, workpapers, calculations, and related client deliverables while working closely with experienced professionals who support your development. You'll apply foundational tax and accounting knowledge, analyze client information, conduct research, and help engagement teams deliver accurate, timely, and well‑documented work. Through hands‑on client experience, structured learning, coaching, and feedback, you'll build greater independence and strengthen the technical, technology, communication, and client service skills needed to advance your career. You'll work with colleagues across the firm, gain exposure to a range of clients and contribute to a collaborative environment that values curiosity, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Support tax engagements while developing an understanding of clients' businesses, industries, transactions, and tax needs.
  • Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns, workpapers, calculations, supporting schedules, and related client deliverables.
  • Analyze client financial and tax information, identify issues requiring follow‑up, and support tax planning, estimates, extensions, notices, and research.
  • Use firm‑approved tax preparation, research, workflow, document management, data, and collaboration technologies.
  • Collaborate with engagement team members and clients to obtain information, resolve routine questions, and maintain well‑supported documentation.
  • Complete assigned work accurately and on time, communicating progress, questions, and potential issues promptly.
  • Apply coaching and feedback to strengthen technical knowledge, professional judgment, business acumen, and work quality.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, initiative, curiosity, and a commitment to quality and exceptional client service.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of client and firm information and exercise sound professional judgment in accordance with firm policies and professional standards.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related business discipline from an accredited institution.
Experience
  • No prior professional experience is required.
  • Previous internship, academic, leadership, volunteer, customer service, or other relevant experience is preferred.
  • This role is designed for candidates with 0–1 year of relevant experience.
Certifications / Licensure Required
  • Eligibility to pursue, or demonstrated progress toward eligibility for, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensure.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer‑sponsored visa sponsorship, now or in the future.

Knowledge & Technical Skills

Foundational accounting knowledge relevant to assigned work with appropriate supervision and review. Ability to apply academic concepts, ask thoughtful questions, and use feedback to improve performance.. Curiosity, openness and experience with emerging technologies, including AI‑enabled tools, and the ability to use them responsibly to support learning, efficiency, and problem solving. Ability to conduct research, analyze information, and document findings clearly and accurately, and elevate questions appropriately. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Work Environment

Full time Additional hours may be required during peak periods. This role operates in a hybrid work environment with regular in‑office attendance. Office expectations vary by location and service line.

Additional Information

The pay rate range for this job position is $60,650 to $79,600. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of relevant factors including but not limited to applicant's skills, prior experience, qualifications, degrees, professional certifications, work arrangements and geographic location.
