Job summary

WD is seeking a Winter 2027 Intern/Co-op Development Engineer in Minnesota. The role focuses on hardware validation, PCBA and HDD testing, and developing test automation scripts while leveraging AI-driven data insights.

The candidate should be pursuing a Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering, with hands-on lab experience and knowledge of analog/digital circuits. This is a non-exempt internship with a pay range of $22.84–$30.45 per hour.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering.
• Experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies.
• Strong understanding of analog and digital electrical circuits.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python and/or TCL and test automation.
• Knowledge in AI and use of AI in the development of predictive and generative models.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive electrical validation test plans and procedures for PCBA and HDD products.
• Perform hands-on testing and validation activities to verify that products meet design specifications and performance requirements.
• Support the development and implementation of test automation scripts and frameworks to improve testing efficiency.
• Document test results, create detailed reports, and maintain comprehensive test data for traceability and compliance.
• Assist in setting up, calibrating, and maintaining test equipment and instrumentation.
• Analyze test data and performance metrics to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement.
