Oliver's Market in Cotati, CA is seeking a Wine Clerk 3 Merchandiser to support daily wine department operations. You will deliver friendly customer service, maintain product knowledge, and ensure accurate signage and shelf presentation.

Responsibilities include inventory management, back stock control, FIFO rotation, receiving deliveries, organizing back stock, and keeping floors clean and safe. Must be able to work evenings and weekends.

SHIFTS: COMPLETE OPEN AVAILABILITY EVENINGS & WEEKENDS REQUIRED

Position Summary

As a Wine Clerk 3 Merchandiser, your focus is on supporting the daily operations of the Wine Department.

• Provide excellent customer service, address the needs of customers, and answer their questions in a timely and effective manner.
• Acquire and maintain thorough knowledge of department products and aisle location. (e.g. wine, beer, spirits, etc.)
• Maintain the inventory on the sales floor. (e.g. merchandising, facing products, pulling inventory, rotating perishable items, displays, proper and accurate signage, etc.)
• Assist with maintaining appropriate levels of back stock of all department items.
• Accurately practice FIFO product rotation to minimize and control spoilage.
• Breakdown and inspection of delivery/vendor orders.
• Organize and properly store received deliveries in appropriate areas.
• Maintain a clean and organized back room and sales floor. (e.g. sweeping, dusting, etc.)
• Promptly clean up all spills and breakage to ensure a safe environment free of hazards such as broken glass.
• Cut new products into sets and ensure alignment with other locations.
• Monitor vintage changes and ensure accuracy of shelf tags when new vintages are delivered.
• Perform inventory counts as requested.
• Answers phones and pages promptly and courteously.
• Operation of equipment. (e.g. forklift, electric pallet jack, etc.)
• Follow and comply with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation and safe work practices.
• Immediately reports safety hazards and violations to supervisors.
• Performs opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned.
• Works all scheduled shifts and attends required trainings and meetings.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisors.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES

• High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Frequent exposure to extreme temperatures from work in and around freezers, coolers, refrigerators, ovens, stovetops, grills, barbeques, etc., inside and outside of the store in all weather conditions.
• Work in wet and dry conditions.
• May require use of ladders or step stools.
• Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals (gas, fumes, chemicals).
• Work with and around tools and equipment, including but not limited to knives, personal protective equipment, forklift, pallet jacks, hand trucks, six-wheel carts, baler, etc.
• Intermittent noise from equipment and machinery.
• Wear non-slip, water and oil resistant closed-toe shoes.
