Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Windows Systems Engineer to support an IT enterprise. You will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter by maintaining and expanding Windows server environments across on-prem and cloud contexts.

Candidates should have strong experience with server technologies, Active Directory, patching, testing, and security compliance. US citizenship is required and the position is on customer site in McLean, VA.

Qualifications

• Experience with server technologies across Linux, UNIX, Windows, and virtual storage environments.
• Experience with Windows integration and Active Directory.
• Experience in testing, validation, and patch management.
• Experience maintaining Windows servers and using vulnerability scanners (e.g., Rapid7).
• Experience building/migrating Windows servers.
• Experience with Remote Desktop and ATO processes.
• Experience documenting system designs, processes and changes.
• Experience with Enterprise IT and supported security applications.
• Experience setting up servers in Commercial Cloud Enterprise (C2E).
• Ability to work in multi-system/multi-application environments with various OS, email, DB, storage, and hardware.
• Ability to work with network requirements and impact on OS.
• Understanding organizational standards for configurations and security.
• Strong problem solving and independent diagnosis.
• Analytical planning and organizational skills.
• Project management techniques to plan and execute projects.
• Strong oral and written communication to explain complex concepts.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Demonstrated experience with server technologies, MVS (multiple virtual storage), Linux, UNIX, and Windows technology and operating systems.

• Demonstrated Experience with Windows integration.

• Demonstrated experience with testing and validation.

• Demonstrated experience with maintaining and updating Windows servers, patching, using Rapid 7 or another scan system on Windows.

• Building windows servers/migrating windows servers

• Demonstrated experience with Remote desktop, Active Directory.

• Demonstrated experience with ATO process.

• Demonstrated experience with documenting System designs, process and changes

• Demonstrated experience with Enterprise Information Technology (EIT) and supported utility and security applications.

• Demonstrated experience setting up and managing servers in Commercial Cloud Enterprise (C2E).

• Demonstrated experience working in a multi-system and multi-application environment with multiple specialties such as operating systems, e-mail, database platforms, storage technologies, and hardware support.

• Demonstrated experience working with network requirements to anticipate impact on respective operating systems.

• Demonstrated experience understanding organizational standards for operating configurations, security constraints, and procedures for managing organization software.

• Demonstrated experience problem solving, to include independent diagnoses and resolving complex technical problems.

• Demonstrated experience using analytical planning and organizational skills

• Demonstrated experience and understanding of project management techniques to plan and execute projects.

• Demonstrated experience using strong oral and written communication skills in order to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Demonstrated experience working independently on routine tasks.

  Demonstrated experience working with system developers to elicit requirements and engage in joint project planning.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
