Job summary

JW Affinity IT is seeking a System Administrator to support the municipal technology environment. You will maintain Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, and Microsoft 365, ensuring security, availability, and efficient user support.

The ideal candidate will resolve infrastructure incidents, manage backups, and coordinate with cybersecurity personnel across facilities. On-site role with potential after-hours maintenance.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of professional experience administering Microsoft enterprise systems.
• Experience with Windows Server, AD, DNS, DHCP, and Microsoft 365.
• Experience troubleshooting server, endpoint, authentication, and application issues.
• Knowledge of backup, recovery, patch management, and monitoring.
• Strong documentation and communication skills; background screening may be required.
• Degree or equivalent in IT.

Responsibilities

• Administer Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy and DNS/DHCP.
• Manage Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Entra ID, and licensing.
• Provision, modify, and disable user accounts and access rights.
• Monitor server availability, performance, storage, backups, and jobs.
• Install, patch, and maintain physical and virtual servers; support virtualization.
• Troubleshoot escalated incidents across OS, apps, authentication and connectivity.
• Assist with endpoint management using Intune and Configuration Manager.
• Support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity activities.
• Maintain system documentation and SOPs; coordinate with cybersecurity personnel.
