Job summary

LTIMindtree in Bellevue, WA seeks a software validation engineer to review MSRC bugs, analyze Windows C/C++ source code, and build validation plans. You will deploy Windows components to test VMs and adapt TAEF tests to verify fixes, collecting logs, dumps, and evidence for reports.

The role requires kernel/user-mode debugging with WinDbg, symbol management, and strong troubleshooting skills. Expected to work on-site in the Seattle area with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Experience with Windows validation, servicing, security testing, or systems engineering.
• Ability to understand C/C++ systems or driver code.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Windows build environments, VMs, and TAEF or similar test frameworks.
• Working knowledge of PowerShell and command-line tools.
• Experience with WinDbg, crash dumps, PDBs, symbol servers, and call-stack analysis.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and attention-to-detail skills.

Responsibilities

• Review MSRC bugs, repro steps, affected components, fixes, and branches in Azure DevOps.
• Analyze relevant Windows C/C++ source code and develop validation plans.
• Build, sign, and deploy Windows components or drivers to test VMs.
• Create or adapt TAEF tests and compare behavior before and after the fix.
• Collect test results, logs, ETW traces, dumps, and supporting evidence.
• Perform basic user-mode and kernel-mode debugging using WinDbg.
• Configure symbol paths, locate matching PDBs, and analyze symbolized call stacks.
• Troubleshoot build, deployment, VM, symbol, and test failures.
• Produce standardized reports covering the issue, validation approach, results, evidence, risks, and conclusions.
• Update Azure DevOps work items with status and artifact links.
