Job summary

Intone Inc. is seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator to support MES environments on site in Los Angeles.

The role involves managing Windows-based infrastructure, backup, and disaster recovery, and ensuring reliable Citrix delivery of MES applications to shop-floor workstations and remote users. You will handle VMware, Windows Server, Active Directory, and network tasks, while maintaining compliance with FDA and GxP standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of systems administration in manufacturing environments.
• Experience supporting MES environments (Siemens, Emerson) is desirable.
• Expert knowledge of backup software and storage targets (SAN/NAS/Cloud).
• Proficiency with VMware vSphere, Windows Server/AD, GPOs, DNS/DHCP and Citrix.
• Strong networking fundamentals including Cisco switches and wireless LAN.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and resolve IT tickets for Windows Access, storage, Citrix, MES accounts, laptops, printers, and network issues.
• Manage enterprise backup solutions (Veeam, Avamar, Dell EMC) and DR planning for MES infrastructure.
• Maintain VMware vSphere infrastructure and Cisco UCS hardware for MES applications.
• Administer Windows Server OS, Active Directory, GPOs, DNS, DHCP; enforce secure operations.
• Support Citrix delivery (Virtual Apps/Desktops) for MES apps to plant-floor workstations and remote users.
• Provide Tier 3/4 troubleshooting for MES infrastructure issues and collaborate with vendors.

Key Responsibilities

IT ServiceNow Tickets

Monitor and resolve IT tickets related to Windows Access issues, storage alerts, Citrix performance issues, MES account creation, laptop issues, zebra printers/scanner, network connectivity and general troubleshooting for shopfloor devices.

Backup & Disaster Recovery Management

Monitor, and manage enterprise backup solutions (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, Dell EMC Avamar) for all virtualized and physical servers supporting the MES environment.

• Infrastructure Management (VMware & Cisco UCS): Monitor and maintain highly available VMware vSphere infrastructure and Cisco UCS hardware to ensure optimal performance and scalability for MES applications.
• Core Services Administration (Windows Server & AD): Administer Windows Server OS, Active Directory (AD-DS), GPOs, DNS, and DHCP services, ensuring secure and compliant operations within the manufacturing domain.
• Application Delivery (Citrix): Monitor and support the Citrix environment (Virtual Apps/Desktops) for secure and efficient delivery of the MES application to plant floor workstations and remote users.
• MES Support: Provide expert-level troubleshooting (Tier 3/4) for infrastructure issues impacting the MES platform, collaborating with application owners and vendors.
• Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all system changes and operations comply with regulatory standards (FDA, GxP). Maintain detailed technical documentation, including backup configurations, D/R plans, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Essential Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years of experience in systems administration within a production/manufacturing environment. Prior experience supporting an MES (e.g., Siemens, Emerson) is highly desirable.
• Technical Expertise:

Backup Solutions: Expert knowledge of enterprise backup software (e.g., Veeam Backup & Replication, Dell EMC Avamar) and related storage targets (SAN, NAS, Cloud, e.g., Tintri, HP Storage).

VMware & Hardware: Deep knowledge of vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and Cisco UCS hardware management.

Microsoft: Expert knowledge of Windows Server OS, Active Directory, GPO, DNS, and DHCP. o Citrix: Proficiency with Citrix Virtual Apps/Desktops and application virtualization technologies.

Network Fundamentals: Working knowledge of Cisco switches (Layer 2/3 configurations, VLAN management), Wireless Access Points, and basic Voice Gateway troubleshooting.

• Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication, attention to detail, a proactive approach to system reliability and data protection, and leadership capacity to manage complex projects and mentor junior staff.
