Emergent Staffing seeks a Systems Administrator (DevOps) to modernize Windows‑centric infrastructure and automate critical admin processes in Cedar Rapids, IA. Hybrid role with onsite 2–3 days/week; US work authorization required.

You will champion automation, deployment practices, and reliability across teams to drive business growth. The ideal candidate combines deep Windows expertise with scripting, DevOps mindset, and disciplined change management.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Systems Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, DevOps, or a related role.
• Hands-on experience managing Windows Server environments and Active Directory automation.
• Strong scripting with PowerShell and automation of infrastructure tasks.
• Experience with Git or similar version control systems and CI/CD.
• Familiarity with monitoring, production support, and change management.

Responsibilities

• Modernize and standardize Windows-centric infrastructure.
• Design, implement, and maintain automation for admin tasks and access controls.
• Automate Active Directory management and RBAC.
• Develop PowerShell and shell scripts for deployments.
• Support CI/CD initiatives with TeamCity and related tooling.
• Enhance monitoring, alerts, and observability across infra and apps.
• Collaborate with admins, help desk, and engineering teams to improve ops.
• Support Azure, Defender, CrowdStrike, and virtualization platforms (Hyper‑V/VMware/Proxmox).
• Assist Linux-based infra supporting container workloads.
• Establish best practices for version control, change management, and docs.
• Participate in planning, troubleshooting, RCA, and post-mortems.
• Evaluate solutions to improve reliability, scalability, and security.
