Job summary

The Shade Store in New Orleans, LA is hiring a Window Treatment Installer. The role involves in-home measurements and installations of our custom shade and drapery lines, including roller/solar shades, Roman shades, and wooden blinds.

You will learn motorization installation and programming with complex products, delivering a world-class customer experience. A strong candidate has carpentry or installation experience, excellent communication, and the ability to lift up to 55 pounds and work with

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent.
• Experience in carpentry, custom installation or a transferable skilled trade.
• Significant experience with hand and power tools including drill, impact driver and level.
• Experience with multiple fasteners, anchors and drill bits.
• Proven ability to measure accurately within 1/8" with manual and laser measurers.
• Strong customer service and in-home service experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written.
• Able to lift 55 pounds and climb ladders up to 26'.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-home measurements and installations of our window treatment product lines (roller/solar shades, Roman shades, drapery; wooden blinds and more).

• Provide customers with a world-class experience during each measure and install appointment.
• Leave a positive lasting impression by demonstrating product use before leaving the job site.
• Use The Shade Store's Measure + Install techniques and software systems for accuracy and efficiency.
• Collaborate with Design Consultants to ensure a seamless end-to-end experience.
• Communicate with Headquarters Measure & Install support teams while in the field.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform in-home measurements and installations of our custom window treatment product lines; primarily roller/solar shades, Roman shades, and drapery, as well as wooden blinds and more


• Ability to learn motorization installation and programming techniques (particularly via Lutron) with complex motorized products


• Provide our customers with a world class experience throughout each measure and install appointment


• Leave a positive lasting impression with our customers by demonstrating how to use the product before leaving the job site


• Become skilled at using The Shade Store's Measure + Install techniques and software systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency of every appointment


• Be a part of a growing network of Measure + Install professionals that partner closely with our local Design Consultants to ensure our customers have a seamless end-to-end experience


• Communicate and partner regularly with the Headquarters Measure & Install support teams while in the field and on-site


• Use personal judgment and initiative to develop effective solutions to challenges and obstacles pertaining to the measurement and installation of window treatments

REQUIREMENTS:

• High School degree or equivalent


• Experience in carpentry, custom installation or a transferable skilled trade required


• Significant experience with the use of a common hand, and power tools including but not limited to power drill, impact driver and level


• Experience with multiple types of fasteners, anchors and drill bits


• Proven ability and experience accurately measuring within 1/8\" with manual and laser measurers


• Significant customer service and in-home service experience is preferred


• Strong spoken and written communications skills


• Punctual, reliable and possesses a great work ethic and the highest level of integrity


• A strong understanding of basic to advanced technology with computers, mobile devices and tablets


• Active driver’s license and insurable


• Ability to lift a minimum of 55 pounds and climb up and down ladders up to 26' in height
