Job summary

84 Lumber is seeking a Service Technician in Lincoln, NE to work closely with our sales team and customers to troubleshoot issues with windows and doors and perform the correct repairs and installations.

The role is hourly and full-time, with a typical Monday–Friday schedule from 7 to 5 and some flexibility. Candidates should have construction experience, strong customer service skills, and the ability to lift up to 80 pounds.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction or installation with windows/doors is preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions and manuals; communicate effectively one-on-one.

Responsibilities

The Service Technician is an hourly position that is responsible for working closely with our sales team and our customer base in trouble shooting issues that are occurring with windows and doors and making the correct repairs. . This includes but is not limited to:

• Screen installation.
• Balancing windows.
• Replacing glass and/or sashes.
• Door repairs.
• Installing windows and doors.
• M – F (48-hour work week), typical days will be 7 to 5 with some flexibility.
• Reports to and works directly with our Customer service manager on a daily basis.

Qualifications

• Previous construction experience is a must, working with or installing windows or doors is a plus
• Fast-paced work environment, excellent customer service skills.
• Efficient, needs to be motivated, many days working alone on small repairs. Some days with a crew of 2 or 3. Most days around other subs and or customers
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and documents (i.e. policy and procedure manuals), write short correspondence and memos, and effectively present information to others one‑on‑one
• Ability to periodically lift up to 80 pounds
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables and standardized situations.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or related experience and/or training
• Clean driving record
• Pass background and drug test
