Job summary

1 Resource Group is seeking a skilled Winder to join our manufacturing team. The Winder will rewind, repair and assemble electromagnetic components for industrial motors and generators, requiring precision and attention to detail in a manufacturing setting.

The role involves winding, testing, repairing windings, following drawings and specs, maintaining records, and collaborating with maintenance and production to optimize processes. Safety and PPE usage are essential in daily tasks.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or technical/trade training.
  • Ability to understand and retain technical training and safety procedures.
  • Willingness to work varying shifts, weekends and holidays when required.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Occasional pushing/pulling of parts, kneeling and crouching, standing and walking.

Responsibilities

  • Perform coil winding, rewinding and assembling stator/rotor components.
  • Inspect, test and repair motor windings with specialized tools.
  • Follow drawings, blueprints and specs for repairs and builds.
  • Keep accurate records of work and materials used.
  • Adhere to quality and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and production to optimize processes.
  • Follow safety processes and wear PPE as required.
  • Read job cards for status, limitations, estimates and scope.
  • Record winding data from units being rewound.
  • Wind AC/DC fields, armatures, rotors and equalizers.
  • Install/replace armature rotor banding.
  • Perform stator core loss testing and document results.
  • Restore stator irons as needed.
  • Work with various winding types and conduct electrical tests.
  • Dip and bake stators as directed; use bake ovens for varnish cures.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area.
  • Perform other duties as signed by Production Manager.

Job Summary

1 Resource Group is currently seeking a skilled Winder to join a reputable manufacturing company. The Winder will be responsible for rewinding, repairing, and assembling electromagnetic components in industrial motors and generators. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform coil winding, rewinding, and assembling of stator and rotor components.
  • Inspect, test, and repair motor windings using specialized tools and equipment.
  • Follow technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications for repairs and builds.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
  • Ensure all work complies with company quality and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to optimize processes.
  • Understand and follow all Safety processes and procedures including the use of required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
  • Read job cards to determine job status, work authorization/limitations, estimate, description of problems and/or work scope.
  • Accurately read and record winding data from units being rewound.
  • Wind AC, DC Fields, Armatures, wound rotors and equalizers.
  • Install and or replace banding of an armature or rotor.
  • Perform stator core loss testing and record in technical traveler.
  • Perform the restoration of stator irons as needed.
  • Work with winding random, mush, synchronous, and form coils.
  • Perform a battery of electrical tests.
  • Dip and bake stators as required by the technical traveler.
  • Utilize bake ovens to cure varnish treatments.
  • Keep work area Safe, clean and organized.
  • Perform all other duties as signed by the Production Manager.
Salary

Up to $25.00 - $35.00 DOE

Qualifications
  • High School diploma, technical or trade school or on the job training.
  • Ability to understand and retain various skill related training and operational and Safety procedures.
  • Work varying shifts, weekends and holidays when required.
  • Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Occasionally push and pull parts, kneel and crouch.
  • Continuously stand and frequently walk.
