Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Configuration Management CAD Specialist in Vista, CA to administer Windchill PLM and manage CAD data for engineering teams. You will ensure data integrity, support revisions, and enable smooth workflows across design, manufacturing, and quality groups.

The role requires 3–7 years in CAD/PLM environments, strong communication, and the ability to drive standardization of CAD and PLM practices. Occasional travel and office-based work are expected.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent experience in a technical field.
• 3–7 years supporting CAD systems and PTC Windchill in engineering environments.
• Experience with PLM administration, document control, and configuration management.
• Solid knowledge of CAD software (SolidWorks preferred; Creo/AutoCAD also used).
• Understanding of PLM principles and engineering change processes.
• Experience with BOM management and product structure maintenance.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support Windchill PLM including docs, workflows, lifecycles, and access controls.
• Manage CAD data with proper revision control and release processes.
• Support Windchill-CAD integration with Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and similar tools.
• Develop and maintain CAD/PLM standards, templates, and best practices.
• Troubleshoot Windchill issues and provide user training and support.
• Coordinate change requests, notices, and release workflows.
• Maintain BOMs and product structures; manage related docs.
• Perform data migration and cleanup for legacy and new products.
• Collaborate with CM, Eng., Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality teams.
• Support software upgrades and rollout of Windchill and CAD features.
• Generate reports and dashboards on engineering data and PLM performance.
• Maintain system docs, user guides, and training materials.
• Ensure compliance with quality, cybersecurity, and industry regulations.
