Job summary

Vestas is seeking a Blade Technician (m/w/d) for wind turbine blades in Empfingen, near Würzburg. The role involves on-site servicing, blade inspection and repair to ensure turbines run reliably.

You will learn rotor blade structures, perform modifications to improve performance, handle laminating resins and composites, and document work digitally. Ideal candidates have vocational training in electrical/mechanical fields, knowledge of epoxy resins and carbon fibre, and a willingness to travel

Qualifications

• Completed vocational training in electrical, metalworking, mechanical and automotive engineering, building services engineering or a comparable technical qualification
• Specialist knowledge of epoxy resins, glass fibre and carbon fibre
• Rope access technician qualification (FISAT or IRATA) ideally
• High safety awareness, especially with hazardous substances
• Ability to prepare and document technical reports independently
• Willing to travel within Germany during the week and be back home on the weekends
• Familiar with Microsoft and iOS operating systems and apps; SAP experience preferred
• Driving licence, ideally class C1E
• Very good German and good English skills

Responsibilities

• Ensure wind turbines operate reliably by carrying out on-site servicing and maintenance
• Inspect and repair the rotor blades on wind turbines as part of a team
• Learn about the rotor blade structure and its components
• Carry out modification work to improve turbine performance
• Apply skills with laminating resins and composite materials
• Document work digitally in a simple and efficient way
