Job summary

Invenergy is hiring a Wind Technician for the Deuel County Energy Center in South Dakota. You will operate and maintain GE wind turbine equipment, perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance, and climb turbine towers daily with safety gear.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of technical experience. You must be able to work outdoors in all weather, lift up to 45 kg, and hold a valid driver's license. Base pay is hourly with bonus potential.

Qualifications

• One year of technical experience (mechanical, electrical, etc.) or technical education.
• Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather and to climb ladders and work at heights.
• Able to move up to 45 kg (100 lb) and weight not exceed 120 kg (265 lb) including gear.
• Valid driver's license and US work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on GE wind turbine and associated equipment.
• Climb wind turbine towers daily, wearing all required safety equipment, to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment.
• Understand electrical and mechanical functions of all components of a wind turbine generator and associated equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults; repair and/or replace components.
• Maintain company tooling, facilities and equipment and a clean, safe work environment.
• Work a 40‑hour work week and be subject to scheduled and unscheduled overtime. The work schedule will vary during the peak maintenance periods.

About the Site

The Deuel County Energy Center is a 301 MW wind power generation facility located in Deuel County, SD utilizing GE 2.8 MW and GE 2.3 MW turbine technology.

Position Overview

As a Wind Technician you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the Deuel County Energy Center.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on GE wind turbine and associated equipment.
• Climb wind turbine towers daily, wearing all required safety equipment, to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment.
• Understand electrical and mechanical functions of all components of a wind turbine generator and associated equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults; repair and/or replace components.
• Maintain company tooling, facilities and equipment and a clean, safe work environment.
• Work a 40‑hour work week and be subject to scheduled and unscheduled overtime. The work schedule will vary during the peak maintenance periods.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One (1) year technical experience (mechanical, electrical, etc.) and/or technical education.
• Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather, climb ladders without assistance, and work at heights greater than 80 m (250 ft).
• Ability to move and manipulate up to 45 kg (100 lb).
• Weight must not exceed 120 kg (265 lb) excluding equipment/gear worn when performing job‑related tasks.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Base Pay

$29.49 - $49.97 USD hourly.

Bonus: 0% - 10%.

The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills.
