Job summary

Invenergy LLC seeks a Wind Technician to operate and maintain the Grand Ridge Energy Center, a 210 MW wind facility in Marseilles, IL. The role follows a rotating 10-hour shift, including weekends, with safety as a priority.

You will perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on GE wind turbines, climb towers, troubleshoot faults, and ensure a safe, well-organized work environment while supporting a large-scale energy project.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year technical experience (mechanical, electrical, etc.) and/or technical education.
• Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather, climb ladders, and work at heights greater than 80 meters (250 feet).
• Ability to move and manipulate up to 45 kg (100 pounds).
• Weight must not exceed 120 kg (265 lbs.) excluding gear.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on GE wind turbine and associated equipment.
• Climb wind turbine towers daily, wearing safety equipment, to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment.
• Understand electrical and mechanical functions of all components of a wind turbine generator and associated equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults; repair and/or replace components.
• Maintain company tooling, facilities and equipment and a clean safe work environment.
• Work a 40 hour work week with scheduled and unscheduled overtime; schedule varies during peak maintenance.

About The Site

The Grand Ridge Energy Center is a 210 MW wind power generation facility located in Marseilles, IL utilizing GE 1.5 SLE turbine technology.

Position Overview

As a Wind Technician you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the Grand Ridge Energy Center. Grand Ridge Energy Center operates on a rotating, 10 hour shift schedule. This schedule includes weekend work.

• Climb wind turbine towers daily, wearing all required safety equipment, to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment.
• Understand electrical and mechanical functions of all components of a wind turbine generator and associated equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults; repair and/or replace components
• Maintain company tooling, facilities and equipment and a clean safe work environment
• Work a 40 hour work week and be subject to scheduled and unscheduled overtime. The work schedule will vary during the peak maintenance periods

Required Skills

Base Pay

The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills.

$29.49 - $49.97 USD Hourly
Bonus: 0% - 10%
