Job summary

Invenergy's Goldthwaite Wind Energy Center in Texas is seeking a Wind Technician to operate and maintain the facility's wind turbines. You will perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance and ensure safe, reliable power generation.

You will climb turbine towers daily in safety gear, troubleshoot electrical/mechanical faults, and replace components as needed. A 40-hour week with overtime during peak periods is typical for this safety-sensitive role.

Qualifications

• 1 year of technical experience (mechanical, electrical, etc.) or related education.
• Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather and at heights.
• Must be able to climb ladders and lift up to 45 kg.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on GE wind turbine equipment.
• Climb wind turbine towers daily wearing safety gear to inspect or repair components.
• Understand electrical and mechanical functions of turbine generators and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot faults; repair and/or replace components as needed.
• Maintain tooling, facilities and a clean, safe work environment.
• Work a 40-hour week with scheduled and unscheduled overtime during peak periods.

About The Site

TheGoldthwaite Wind Energy Center is a 148.6 MW wind power generation facility located in Goldthwaite, TX. utilizing GE 1.7 MW and 2.5 MWESS WTG turbine technology.

Position Overview

As a Wind Technician you will be responsible for operating and maintaining theGoldthwaite Wind Energy site. Your primary work will be servicing and repairing wind turbines.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on GE wind turbine and associated equipment
• Climb wind turbine towers daily, wearing all required safety equipment, to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment.
• Understand electrical and mechanical functions of all components of a wind turbine generator and associated equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults; repair and/or replace components
• Maintain company tooling, facilities and equipment and a clean safe work environment
• Work a 40 hour work week and be subject to scheduled and unscheduled overtime. The work schedule will vary during the peak maintenance periods

Required Skills

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• One (1) year technical experience (mechanical, electrical, etc.) and/or technical education.
• Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather, climb ladders without assistance, and work at heights greater than 80 meters (250 feet).
• Ability to move and manipulate up to 45 kg (100 pounds).
• Weight must not exceed 120 kg (265 lbs.) excluding equipment/gear worn when performing job related tasks.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Base Pay

$29.49 - $49.97 USD Hourly
Bonus: 0% - 10%

The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education and skills.
