GE Vernova is seeking a Wind Hub Technician to support onshore wind sites across Texas Hub 15. You will perform maintenance, repair and diagnostic work on GE wind turbines, and document all activities in service reports.

The role requires climbing towers and lifting heavy loads, with rotating shifts and on-site assignments across multiple sites. The position is not remote; relocation assistance is provided, and GE Vernova offers medical/dental/vision, retirement plans, tuition and parental leave

Qualificações

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year experience as Wind Technician or Wind Mechanic.
• OR 2 years experience with hydraulic/electrical work and basic computer skills plus ability to pass a knowledge assessment.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

As the Wind Hub Technician, you will:

• Work with site leadership to execute contractual obligations per customer requirements and activities set forth with daily, which include any portion of the electrical and mechanical equipment used in the GE wind turbine generator.
• Perform maintenance, repair or replacement of parts to correct malfunctions;
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on variable pitch & variable speed turbines;
• Help in all areas of site operations as directed by manager with minimal supervision,
• Perform some diagnostic electrical analysis;
• Document all work performed using computer-based service reporting procedures and
• Work with and respond to GE’s remote operations center when necessary.

Qualifications/Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED, and
• Minimum of 1 year(s) experience as a Wind Technician or Wind Mechanic

OR

• Minimum of 2 years of work experience inclusive of hydraulic, electrical, and experience using basic power hydraulic tools, AND Passing a Technical Knowledge Assessment, basic computer skills.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license
• Ability and willingness to lift repetitive weight of up to 45 lbs. unassisted and climb towers of 300+ feet regularly.
• Meet specified manufacturer weight limits not to exceed 300lbs including required gear.
• Understand electrical schematic drawings, technical manuals, procedures, and regulations.
• Ability and willingness to work in range of environments to include but not limited to industrial facilities, manufacturing facilities, and power industry facilities
• Flexibility to work rotating shift schedules, and on-call per site needs.

Desired Characteristics

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical, Electrical, or Electronics field from an accredited college or university
• Technical Certification in Wind Energy or Electrical / Electronic field
• Ability to work with a wide variety of personnel at all levels inside and outside of the Wind Farm
• Wind turbine experience
• Ability and willingness to take initiative, and work without direct supervision
• Electrical, mechanical, and/or hydraulic experience
• Experience using hydraulic power tools
• Experience with heavy equipment required for facility maintenance with a working knowledge of crane and rigging requirements

Please note: This is not a remote position. The work location for this position includes all wind sites within Texas Hub 15. You are expected to work at all sites within this Hub and report to work at any site within this Hub as assigned by your manager.
