Job summary

Conservation Legacy in San Acacia, NM seeks a Biological Science Technician for an AmeriCorps individual placement at Sevilleta National Wildlife Refuge. The role involves wetland management, surveys, and restoration tasks supporting refuge staff and partners.

Ideal candidates are 18–30 years old, US citizens or eligible residents, with a HS diploma and willingness to obtain required checks. Housing is provided; service runs 18 weeks through May 2027.

Qualifications

• Citizen, national or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
• At least 18 years old and eligible for AmeriCorps service.
• Willing to obtain a high school diploma or equivalent if not completed.
• Subject to National Service Criminal History Check.

Responsibilities

• Wetland water management support and data collection.
• Oryx surveys, waterfowl counts, and invasive species control tasks.
• Assist with fence construction, restoration work, and data entry.
• Work with refuge staff and AmeriCorps participants in a team setting.
