Laredo College in Laredo, TX seeks a Wildlife Technician Assistant to support wildlife care and exhibit development at the Environmental Science Center. You will assist with animal husbandry, housekeeping of enclosures, and daily reports under supervision.
The role involves maintaining aquariums, assisting with groundskeeping, and helping with conservation projects. A high school diploma or GED and wildlife handling experience are required, along with CPR/AED and a valid driver’s license.
The Wildlife Technician Assistant reports directly to the Wildlife Education Coordinator and LBVEC Director is responsible for wildlife care, assisting with maintaining and developing all exhibits at the Environmental Science Center, grounds keeping, and for assisting with activities among the various groups and organizations associated with the Environmental Center. The Wildlife Technician Assistant must adhere to College Districts Policies, employee handbook, and Institutional Advancement Division Protocols.

Reports to the Director, Wildlife Education Coordinator, and/or Vice President of Institutional Advancement.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Work is performed in a standard office environment. Work inside a well-lighted and air-conditioned area most of the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.

Immediate supervisor may assign other duties. May be required to work outside regular working hours, as needed. May be required to work at a different college work site or campus as needed.
