Job summary

Audubon Nature Institute is seeking a Guest Engagement Specialist for our Audubon Aquarium & Audubon Insectarium in New Orleans. The role focuses on creating memorable experiences through engaging, interpretive programming and live animal encounters.

The Specialist will deliver talks, demonstrations, and guided interactions while upholding animal welfare standards. Degree and wildlife education experience are preferred, with flexibility for events and holidays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
• 6 months in informal learning or wildlife education is preferred.
• Ability to work holidays, weekends, and occasional after-hours events.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging informal and interpretive programs for guests of all ages.
• Present live ambassador animals and conduct animal chats and demonstrations.
• Support training/mentoring of volunteers and interns.
• Collaborate with animal care teams to support exhibits and programs.
• Communicate with guests to anticipate needs and enhance experiences.
• Participate in program development for conservation messaging.
