Job summary

The Puyallup Tribe of Indians seeks a Biologist in the Hunting and Wildlife Department to advise on wildlife resource issues and manage data collection across the Medicine Creek Treaty Area.

You will lead surveys, analyze harvest data, collaborate with tribal and multi-agency partners, and help plan habitat and population management projects, including elk and deer studies. UAS pilot license required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Natural or Environmental Resources or related field or 4 years related experience.
• Proficient data analysis, reporting, and field data collection.
• Ability to communicate findings to diverse stakeholders.
• Experience with wildlife surveys and population monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Advise Tribal Council, Hunting and Wildlife Director, and Committee on wildlife issues.
• Collect and analyze harvest data and conduct wildlife surveys.
• Collaborate with multi-agency partners on wildlife monitoring within Medicine Creek Treaty Area.
• Draft and present annual animal population data and regulatory recommendations.
• Coordinate and plan habitat improvement and wildlife research projects.
