Qualifications

• BASIC REQUIREMENT: Degree in biological science with wildlife coursework.
• One year of specialized experience at GS-09 level or higher or graduate education.
• Experience leading research teams in remote field settings.
• Knowledge of telemetry, GPS, GIS, data entry systems, and wildlife surveillance.

Responsibilities

• Performs technical procedures including capture, restraint, immobilization, marking, transport, euthanasia, and necropsy of wild ungulates.
• Conducts research design and data collection in field and pen settings.
• Conducts statistical analysis of diverse datasets including movement and disease data.
• Represents the program at meetings and prepares reports and peer‑reviewed publications.
• Operates field equipment and adheres to safety procedures.
