Job summary

Hualapai Nsn seeks a Fuels Specialist to plan fuels treatments and prescribed burns on the Hualapai reservation, collaborating with tribal, federal and state partners to implement projects along the reservation boundary.

The role supports forestry programs, develops a 10-year plan for Hazardous Fuels Reduction, and provides leadership and training to staff while ensuring compliance with applicable policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in biology, agriculture, natural resources, chemistry, forestry, or related field.
• Combination of education and experience with relevant course work in natural resources.
• 401 Certificate, Fire Ecology and Management; NWCG qualifications (Currency) including RXB2; ENGB/CRWB/HMGB cores.

Responsibilities

• Supports goals of Management.
• Provides annual program intent.
• Develops staff to meet NWCG qualifications for prescribed burns.
• Collaborates with tribal, state, county, and federal entities.
• Develops a 10-year plan for Hazardous Fuels Reduction.
• Provides leadership, educational opportunities, and promotes staff members.
• Assigns duties to meet the division's mission.
• Inputs annual report data from IT systems (NFPORS, BehavePlus, FMAPlus).
• Complies with Tribal, State, and Federal policy.
• Provides direction to subordinates.
• Participates in interdisciplinary teams.
