Job summary

Texas A&M University System's Forest Service is seeking a Resource Specialist I for the Alice task force. The role includes attending required training, delivering agency programs to local communities, operating wildland firefighting equipment, and responding to wildland fires and other hazards.

The position requires high school education, one year of experience, and may require a CDL or NWCG training. Benefits include a competitive package and opportunities for growth within TAMFS.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Preferred: 2-year natural resources related degree.
  • One or more years general work experience.
  • NWCG firefighter or related training preferred.
  • CDL or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a wildland firefighter and/or emergency responder on a statewide basis, operating heavy fire fighting equipment and conducting ground reconnaissance.
  • Assist Regional Fire Coordinator with Capacity Building programs to VFDs and municipal fire departments across TAMFS and partner agencies.
  • Maintain assigned state vehicle and emergency equipment in a ready state.
  • Support Fire Emergency Response and Forest Natural Resource programs as requested.
