Job summary

Grayback Forestry, Inc. seeks a Wildland Firefighter/Forestry Technician to perform forestry projects and wildland fire suppression as part of a crew under the Merlin, OR base. The role requires physical fitness, teamwork, and adherence to safety protocols.

Training and certification through NWCG are offered/required, including the IS-700/I-100 online courses. Responsibilities include operating hand tools and chainsaws, building fire lines, and supporting emergency responses.

Responsibilities

• Promote Grayback Forestry’s mission and values.
• Maintain safe, productive work environment and clean equipment.
• Comply with state and federal regulations.
• Operate power tools (pumps, chainsaws) and hand tools (Mcleods, Pulaskis, shovels).
• Cut and pile brush/trees; tree planting, staking, tubing.
• Extinguish flames and embers, construct fire lines, implement prescribed burns.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
