Major Duties

As a Wildland Firefighter (Fire Dispatching) your duties will include but are not limited to the following: Perform and coordinate complex wildland Fire dispatching functions, including initial attack, aviation, logistics, and intelligence operations, to ensure the effective, timely, and safe mobilization, tracking, and support of resources for wildland fire and all-hazard incidents. Participate in multi-agency fire management planning and ensure on-going emergency response preparedness. Provide logistical planning, coordination, program direction, and evaluation of the interagency logistics dispatch program. Act on behalf of the Center Manager, within delegated authorities, in their absence.

Requirements

Must be a U.S. Citizen or National. Suitability for Federal employment, as determined by background investigation. Direct Deposit Required. Ability to quickly and accurately communicate the effects of changing fire conditions to advise and suggest modified response to field personnel. Knowledge of fire operations and safety precautions to determine fire management response and resource allocation. Knowledge of wildland fire technology related to dispatching such as automated software, analytics, and data retrieval tools.
