Department of Natural Resources (DNR) in Washington State seeks a Salish Unit Crew Superintendent, Wildland Fire Management Specialist (WFMSpec) in the Northwest Region. This full-time, permanent role is based in Stanwood, WA, with a salary range of $4,517.00 to $6,075.00 monthly.

The incumbent leads and trains a 10-person crew, supports the wildfire protection strategy, and ensures safety and readiness across fire seasons.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience including fire line supervision.
• NWCG Single Resource Boss – Crew Boss certification.
• Experience interpreting agreements and contracts.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word and PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Protects human life and natural resources on department-protected lands while minimizing resource loss and fire costs.
• Coordinates with other agencies/management teams for fire suppression activities; works long irregular hours as needed.
• Plans and conducts training for seasonal crews; ensures safety practices and training records; oversees vehicle readiness.
