The Oregon Military Department is seeking a Forest Officer at the Rees Training Center in Hermiston, Oregon. This permanent full-time position reports to the Oregon National Guard framework and is AFSCME represented.

The role includes leading wildland fire suppression crews, serving as Incident Commander, and ensuring readiness of engines and crews while coordinating prevention, suppression, and field operations through diverse shifts and challenging conditions.

Qualifikationen

• Four seasons in wildland fire suppression or Bachelor's degree in forestry or closely related field and one season of wildland fire suppression.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Must possess and maintain a Single Resource Boss (SRB) certification and an Incident Commander Type 5 (ICT5) certification.

Aufgaben

• Provide leadership to assigned fire suppression crews on a recurring basis.
• Serve as Incident Commander and may operate at higher IC levels on complex incidents.
• Administer and enforce Oregon fire prevention statutes and rules.
