The California Public Utilities Commission’s Public Advocates Office is seeking a Ratepayer Advocacy Analyst (PUBLIC UTILITIES REGULATORY ANALYST III) to advance wildfire risk reduction initiatives. Qualifications

• Describe your experience conducting complex policy and economic analysis, identifying problems, and recommending effective solutions.
• Describe your experience writing clearly, persuasively, and concisely, including explaining research findings and policy recommendations to lay audiences.
• Describe your experience planning and executing projects collaboratively; considering alternative viewpoints on controversial issues; and building consensus around conclusions.

Responsibilities

• Support wildfire risk reduction advocacy efforts in proceedings addressing risk mitigation.
• Review and analyze Risk Asset Mitigation Phase and General Rate Case proceedings for alignment of risk evaluation frameworks.
• Represent the Office in wildfire cost recovery and securitization proceedings and advocate for cost‑effective mitigations.
• Collaborate with engineers, policy analysts, and attorneys to develop policy recommendations and write testimony, comments, and memoranda.
