Job summary

The Florida Forest Service, part of the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, is seeking a candidate for forest fire prevention, detection, and presuppression duties. This on-site role involves providing technical forestry services to landowners and industry representatives, and supporting state lands management.

Responsibilities include operating and maintaining firefighting equipment, investigating wildfire causes, and hazard mitigation.

Qualifications

• Candidate must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
• Submit fingerprint card with processing fee; background check.
• Be in good physical condition and pass medical examination.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical forestry services to landowners and industry representatives.
• Operate and maintain firefighting equipment and vehicles.
• Investigate wildfire causes and gather evidence; issue violations where appropriate.
• Assist in public lands management and wildfire prevention programs.
• Perform other duties related to fire prevention and response.
