Job summary

RedCliff Ascent is seeking Field Guides to live and work in Utah's backcountry, guiding at-risk teens through a wilderness-based program. You will mentor, supervise, and deliver a safe, educational experience while teaching outdoor skills and fostering personal growth.

You will work 8-day shifts, 8 on/6 off schedule, with basecamp and primitive living aspects. The role combines adventure with structured therapy, requiring teamwork, resilience, and a passion for outdoor mentorship.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or higher; college degree preferred.
• Must be 19+ years old.
• Must have 1st Aid & CPR within first month; WFR preferred.
• Eligible to work in the USA and pass background check.

Responsibilities

• Work 8 consecutive days in backcountry with teens.
• Ensure supervision and safety of students.
• Mentor students in primitive outdoor skills.
• Assist students in curriculum work.
• Lead experiential activities and group discussions.
• Create a safe environment for processing emotions.
• De-escalate and manage crises within group.
• Carry essential gear like first aid kit, radio, SPOT.
• Follow all company policies and local/state/federal laws.
