Job summary

TVCCA - Thames Valley Council for Community Action, Inc. is seeking a WIC Site Nutritionist to manage and supervise daily program services at the WIC clinic site(s). Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations and leading the WIC staff to deliver superior customer service. The role also requires certifying nutritional eligibility of participants and providing nutrition education.

This position demands flexibility with working hours, including evenings and weekends, and strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year institution with a major in foods and nutrition, or community nutrition, or nutrition education, or nutrition sciences.
• Four years of full time work experience with nutrition in a health agency or health facility.
• At least 2 years experience in a supervisory capacity.

Job description

The WIC Site Nutritionist manages and supervises the daily program services for the WIC clinic site(s). Ensure that daily operations at site(s) are implemented in compliance with all federal and state regulations and that all TVCCA Policies and Procedures are followed. Lead the WIC staff to provide excellent customer service with a diverse population. Problem solves and makes decisions on site related issues. Certify the nutritional eligibility of program participants, and provide nutrition education and individual diet counseling with the use of Motivational Interviewing. In addition, this position requires working evenings, weekends and a flexible work schedule to meet the needs of the clinic, including performing all necessary duties. Client contacts are 80% and administrative are 20%.

Required skills
