Job summary

Hamilton County Government is seeking a Nutritionist for its Health & Social Services Division to deliver WIC services, nutrition education, and breastfeeding support. The role requires a Master’s in Nutrition with a Registered Dietitian credential and a valid Tennessee license; a driver’s license is also required.

The incumbent will assess clients, develop nutrition plans, and collaborate with providers to ensure appropriate referrals.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Nutrition required or equivalent.
• Must be a Registered Dietitian (RD) with Tennessee licensure (LDN).
• Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition with 2+ years of relevant experience acceptable if RD credential is held.

Responsibilities

• Provide WIC certifications and nutrition counseling to clients/families.
• Promote and support breastfeeding as appropriate.
• Determine and authorize WIC food packages and conduct follow-up education.
• Coordinate referrals with healthcare providers and prepare group education materials.
• Maintain patient records and data in computerized systems.
