Job summary

Antelope Valley Medical Center is looking for a Degreed Nutritionist responsible for offering counseling and nutrition education for high-risk WIC participants. In this role, you will conduct nutrition assessments and collaborate with dietitians to develop care plans.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Nutrition and possess excellent public speaking skills. A California driver’s license is also required.

Qualifications

• Must meet the education requirements specified in the California WIC Program Manual.
• Preferred: 1 year of experience in a community nutrition program.
• California driver’s license and current car insurance required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nutrition assessments for WIC participants.
• Evaluate height, weight, laboratory values, and nutrition questionnaire data.
• Identify and prioritize nutrition risks.
• Collaborate with a Registered Dietitian to develop care plans.
• Provide nutrition education and counseling.
