Job summary

Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties invites applications for a Nutrition Aide I in Costa Mesa, CA. This entry-level role supports WIC nutrition services and front-line client assistance.

You will collect measurements, provide nutrition information, and help manage client records while coordinating with dietitians and other staff. The position is full-time and requires strong customer service and basic computer skills.

Qualifications

• Strong commitment to quality healthcare and excellent customer service is required.
• Must thrive in a fast paced, rigorous environment with changing priorities.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
• Must demonstrate high level computer skills including; Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Electronic medical records experience may also be required.

Responsibilities

• Provides Customer Service and Support Services for WIC Nutritional Program.
• Assists the WNA’s with WIC clients by obtaining and accurately recording measurements and dietary info.
• Compares laboratory test results and dietary data to screen for nutrition risk.
• Identifies clients with special nutritional needs and refers them to the Nutritionist.
• Provides basic health, nutrition and breastfeeding information to clients.
• Maintains client documentation through WIC WISE.
• Explains program eligibility requirements and clients’ rights.
• Provides triage at WIC sites by answering calls and aiding customers.
• Instructs clients on prescribed food packages and purchasing options.
• Conducts monthly group classes and participates in community outreach.
