Job summary

Apple, Inc. in San Diego is seeking a Wireless Stability QA Engineer to design, implement, and automate tests ensuring Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth and Thread software stability across iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Mac platforms.

You will develop stress tests, validate features, and collaborate with multiple teams to triage issues and improve test coverage using AI tools and automation. A strong OS knowledge and CWNA preference are desired.

Qualifications

• Experience in testing Wireless technologies - WiFi, especially Bluetooth - Functional or Performance or Stability Testing.
• Automation experience in C/C++ or scripting in Python/Shell.

• Deep understanding of SQA methodologies & practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute software tests to identify and address stability & functional issues ensuring high quality Wireless Software.
• Define and execute test plans to validate Wi‑Fi/BT &Thread features of Apple products, ensuring they meet stability requirements.
• Raise issues and follow up with the development team to identify the root cause using Apple internal tools.
• Investigate user/field issues, and perform engineering analysis to understand and add test coverage for reproduction.
• Apply AI tools and data analysis to test results and logs to surface failure patterns, speed up triage, and guide test coverage.
• Automate testcases in objective C framework and contribute to test coverage automation.
• Build, configure, and maintain test infrastructure to efficiently execute test plans across various software releases.
• Collaborate closely with development teams to validate software and firmware patches and fixes.

Description

As a Wireless Stability Test Engineer, you will join a dynamic team responsible for the stability of Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth and Thread software on Apple products. The successful candidate will be involved in stress and stability testing for Wi‑Fi/BT technologies and its features for iPhones/iPads, Apple Watches, Apple TVs, and Mac product lines.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience in testing Wireless technologies - WiFi , especially Bluetooth - Functional or Performance or Stability Testing
• Preferable to have automation experience in any of the programming languages - C/C++ or scripting skills in python/shell.
• Experience using AI tools in testing or automation work, and analyzing test or log data to draw actionable insights on quality and stability.
• Deep understanding of SQA methodologies & practices
• Good Understanding and working knowledge of WiFi and BT protocols preferred, CWNA preferred
• Good understanding of Operating System concepts
• Experience in developing test strategies and test methodologies
• Experience in developing automated test cases

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $142,300 and $214,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
