Job summary

USG Insurance Services is seeking a Property Broker who will work with retail agents to place business with target markets. You will assess submissions, negotiate terms, and help grow our property portfolio in a flexible remote/hybrid setup with potential Tampa, FL involvement.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years in property insurance, a P&C license, and strong communication skills to build relationships and close deals.

Qualifications

• Solid knowledge of property insurance coverages, rating and terminology.
• Active P&C license is required or in process.
• Experience with large property accounts and submissions.
• Strong business writing and relationship-building abilities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with retail insurance agents to develop and submit business to target markets.
• Build relationships with brokerage markets and negotiate terms for coverage and pricing.
• Respond to quotes promptly and coordinate timelines with support teams.
• Solicit new business through sales activities and territory development.

The Role Itself

As a Broker you'll collaborate with retail insurance agents to develop and submit business to target markets, building strong relationships with brokerage markets. You'll assess new business submissions, negotiate terms for optimal coverage and pricing, and ensure timely quotes. Additionally, you'll solicit new business through various sales and marketing strategies, establish relationships within a territory, and coordinate administrative workflows with support teams to ensure accurate and prompt service responses.

Responsibilities include:

• Work with retail insurance agents, to develop and submit business to target markets for placement.
• Building relationships with our brokerage markets
• Assess new business submissions and negotiate terms, by selecting the markets that can provide the most coverage at the best price.
• Following submissions through the process, to assure quotes are provided in a timely manner and negotiate with all parties involved to reach an acceptable price.
• Solicit new business through various sales and marketing techniques and begin establishing relationships within a territory utilizing agency visits, telemarketing calls and cross selling.
• Coordinate and handle administrative workflows in conjunction with support team(s) to establish accurate and prompt response to service issues.

What We Are Looking For:

• Strong knowledge and experience of property insurance including: coverages, rating, terminology and technical procedures.
• P&C license required
• Experience working with large property accounts
• History of business development and submissions from direct production responsibilities.
• Must be sales driven, “people person” who likes to establish new relationships while learning communication strategies and sales methods.
• Experienced in Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Reader. Ability to quickly learn new programs and applications.
• Skilled in business writing and problem/situation analysis.
• Energetic, self‑motivated individuals who are goal oriented and can thrive in a team environment.
• Strong desire to learn and develop new skills.
• A four year college degree is preferred with 1-3 years of relative experience.
