Job summary

Joseph Gallo Farms seeks a proactive Plant Operations Leader to direct daily production and lead a team of frontline employees in a dairy manufacturing environment. You will establish SOPs, manage staffing, and drive safety and efficiency across shifts.

The role requires strong supervisory experience in food manufacturing, knowledge of GMP, and flexibility for non-traditional hours. English proficiency is required; Spanish helpful. Office and production site environment with routine plant visits.

Qualifications

• Minimum A.A. with B.S or B.A. preferred.
• 5 years of supervisory experience.
• Experience in food manufacturing, preferably dairy operations or related.
• Familiarity with safety programs and GMP.
• Willingness to work non-traditional hours.
• Food, CPG or USDA/FDA environments.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage operational employees through functional leads and set daily objectives.
• Oversee frontline employees including hiring, reviews, rewards and discipline.
• Manage daily processes and establish SOPs.
• Define workload requirements, schedules and task assignments.
• Identify training needs and certification requirements.
• Ensure safe operation and maintain composure in stress.
• Motivate employees to achieve higher performance.
• Ensure fair treatment of employees and consistency.
• Support process improvement programs and meet KPI standards.

Requirements

Summary of Functions

Lead effective daily operations and develop highly skilled plant operations. Support the departmental goals of efficiency, high yields, quality production and equipment operation

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Directly manage operational employees through functional leads establishing daily objectives
• Responsibility for frontline employees including hiring, reviews, rewards and discipline
• Manage daily processes, including but not limited to:
• EstablishOperational procedures (SOPs)
• Establish workloadrequirements, work schedules and plain task levelassignments
• Establish training needs and certification requirements
• Ensure safe operation
• Maintain composure in stressful situations, making sound decisions and communicating with management team as needed
• Motivate employees to higher achievements
• Treat all employees fairly and with consistency
• Support the development of a process improvement program
• Manage to KPI standards established by operations manager
• Recognize trends/indicators and reacts proactively to address potential problems
• Ensure employees maintain industryguidelines for GMP
• Proficiency in English required with Spanish language skillspreferred
• Computer proficient

Food Safety Requirements/Responsibilities

• Comply with all Plant, State, and Federal OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF regulations
• Comply with GMP's in the plant
• Assist in the maintenance of Food Safety and Quality system

Position reports to the Plant Manager. Direct reports for this position include:
