Job Description

WGL - Transmission Integrity Engineer

Washington Gas has an immediate opening for a Transmission Integrity Engineer to support the Transmission Integrity Management Program (TIMP). The role involves performing risk analysis on pipeline assets, investigating and maintaining historical engineering records related to pipeline integrity, and supporting pipeline integrity projects to enhance the safety and reliability of transmission and high-pressure pipelines. We are open to hiring at the Engineer I, II, or III level depending on experience.

You Will
  • Perform risk analysis on transmission assets and recommend measures to reduce risk.
  • Support pipeline integrity processes, including records research for existing transmission and high-pressure pipelines, class location studies, and SMYS calculations.
  • Coordinate documentation collection processes for engineering pipeline projects, including review of pressure test reports.
  • Assist with pipeline integrity management initiatives, identifying process improvements and implementing changes.
  • Support higher-level engineers on projects like ECDA and ILI.
  • Assist with pipeline material testing, including shipping samples and reviewing test reports.
  • Participate in and assist with transmission integrity management audits.
  • Stay current with PHMSA regulations and assist with implementing new requirements.
You Must Have
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
Engineer Level I
  • Internship or relevant experience is a plus.
  • EIT Certification preferred.
Engineer Level II
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in the natural gas industry required.
  • EIT Certification preferred.
  • PMP Certification preferred.
Engineer Level III
  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience required.
  • NACE Certification preferred.
  • EIT Certification or PMP Certification required.
  • PE Certification is preferred.

We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 to $113,250 per year, with comprehensive benefits including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
