Job summary

WGL Holdings, Inc. is seeking a Pressure Technician I to support safe operation of pressure-regulating equipment at GSO facilities. The role offers hands-on work with regulator stations, system installation, and routine maintenance in a team environment.

Required are a high school diploma or GED, 18+ months of hands-on tech experience, basic math/physics knowledge, and a valid driver’s license. Union priority applies; training and certifications will be provided as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with operation and maintenance of Gas System Operations (GSO) facilities.
• Perform regulator station maintenance and troubleshooting; conduct confined space work.
• Complete installation work for GSO facilities, including tubing, conduit, wiring, piping, and structural framework.
• Perform general station and site upkeep, such as yard/building maintenance, digging, snow removal, and painting.
• Stock, equip, and maintain company vehicles to ensure tools and materials are ready for the job.
• Communicate clearly via company radio and coordinate with team.

Job DescriptionUnion: YesBargaining Unit/Local: International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 96Rate Classification: Grade 4A - $33.14 per hour, per the Collective Bargaining AgreementNumber of Positions Available: 1What This Role is About:As a Pressure Technician I, you’ll support the safe and efficient operation of pressure‑regulating equipment at our GSO (Gas System Operations) facilities. Working alongside experienced technicians, you’ll gain hands‑on experience maintaining and operating essential gas system equipment that helps keep service reliable for our customers.This role is ideal for someone who enjoys technical, hands‑on work and wants to grow their skills in a structured, team‑oriented environment.Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:30AM-3:00PM (EST).What You'll Be Doing:• Work under general direction of higher graded employee or supervisor, supporting daily operations and maintenance.• Assist with the operation and maintenance of Gas System Operations (GSO) facilities, including regulator station maintenance and troubleshooting, confined space work, transmission valve maintenance, transmission service maintenance.• Perform periodic inspections of stations to help ensure safety and reliability.• Complete installation work for GSO facilities, including tubing, conduit, wiring, piping, and structural framework.• Perform general station and site upkeep, such as yard/building maintenance, digging & manual labor, snow removal, and painting, grass cutting, & trimming.• Interpret and use company records and documentation, including map books & station drawings.• Communicate clearly and effectively through company radio, verbal instructions, and team coordination.• Stock, equip, and maintain company vehicles to ensure tools & materials are ready for the job.• Maintain tools and equipment in good working conditionIn addition to the activities described above:•May be assigned to related business support and administrative activities (ex. backend meter processing, backend corrosion processing, backend leak/damager prevention processing, peer safety observations, vehicle clean-out, cross functional training activities, etc.)• Shift Work: As required. Will report to various company facilities as required.
