About the Role

Are you interested in using technology, data, and analytics to solve real business challenges? As a Digital Innovation Intern, you'll work alongside experienced professionals supporting the systems and technologies that help power WGL Energy's retail energy business. You'll gain hands-on experience with business applications, analytics, and digital transformation initiatives while helping improve processes, enhance user experiences, and support data-driven decision-making. This is an excellent opportunity to develop both your technical and business acumen while working on meaningful projects within the energy industry.

What You'll Do

Support the Energy Retail Digital team in modernizing business-critical applications that enable day-to-day operations. Assist with requirements gathering, business analysis, data management, reporting, and related development activities to support informed decision-making and successful solution delivery. Collaborate with stakeholders to improve processes and support technology-driven solutions. Contribute to digital transformation, automation, and continuous improvement projects. Analyze data, help clean up data, and identify opportunities to enhance business performance and efficiency. Support special projects while gaining exposure to business systems, analytics, and emerging technologies.

What You'll Bring

Currently enrolled in your 3rd or 4th year of an undergraduate degree program in Business Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an interest in leveraging data to improve business performance. Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences and translate complex concepts into practical solutions. Experience with data visualization, reporting tools, dashboards, analytics platforms, or business systems is considered an asset. Collaborative, curious, and proactive with a willingness to learn new technologies and business processes.
